Looks like our friends over at Firelake are welcoming a new executive chef into their family as Chef Keven Kvalsten is set to take over the reigns from their former longtime chef, Jim Kyndberg. There’s no immediate word on what Chef Kyndberg is up to now that he’s resigned his post at Firelake, but it sounds as though he’s working on some kind of new project that hopefully we’ll learn more about soon.
Chef Kvalsten has been with Firelake since November of last year, but is now officially taking over the reigns. Kvalsten originally started out his career as a professional bike racer in France, but he’s no stranger to the Twin Cities scene which makes him a solid pick for Firelake.
Kvalsten helped to open the original Corner Table concept back in 2003 and from 2005-2010 he ran and co-owned Waconia’s, The Green Room. He also served as the executive chef at the Twisted Fork Grille, Crooked Pint Ale House, Napa Valley Grille, and Republic making him a perfect fit for the Minnesota-inspired, Firelake Grill.
